The Moto G ( 2nd Gen) comes with a Qualcomm MSM8226 Snapdragon 400 chipset and Quad-core 1.2 GHz processor. This is kept same as the older version Moto G. Unlike its predecessor, the all new Moto G (2nd Gen) supports Android 4.4 (Kitkat) O.S and it is also upgradable to Andorid L. The phone does not support LTE Connectivity. It comes with a larger display of 5 inches with Corning Gorilla Glass coupled with stereo speakers and the primary camera have been upgraded from 5 M.P to 8 M.P and the secondary camera from 1.3 M.P to 2 M.P. With this you shouldn't be having any problem clicking beautiful pictures. But the disadvantage with the camera is it does not support 1080p video recording. It only supports upto 720p, 30fps video recording. The phone comes with 8 Gb or 16 Gb inbuilt phone memory with 1 Gb RAM. The phone memory is expandable via microSD memory card slot. The battery of the phone is not upgraded and kept the same as its predecessor with non - removable Li-Ion 2070 mAh battery. This could effect the average battery performance of the upgraded Moto G as it comes with a larger display size.
The chipsets could have been upgraded in the second generation but motorola chose to improve other areas. Keeping in mind the price of the smartphone, it is still a better option to choose the new generation Moto G as it comes for a price of Rs.12,999 in India. It is one of the best mid range budget smartphones to go for.
