Last Night, we people from AllTekkies.net were texting each other in our group and guess what happened?? We came across a wonderful fact, which we unearthed accidentally. And, we decided we will share it with the world if they haven't found this interesting fact and about project94.

The fact we unearthed is:

Start typing a.org or b.org or c.org or any alphabet followed by .org domain in a chat text field.....you will be welcomed with a pop-up window from the bottom suggesting you to own the domain if interested. Give a try.....

All you need to know about Android M

At the recent Google I/O 2015 in San Fransisco the newest android version was released currently named ANDROID M.

Android M is Google's way to go back to its routes. This version boasts of not only some new added features but also more stability. The features that the Android M is backed up with are those which we users always wanted in our phones.

1-TOTAL control

Something which we all longed for. This new feature lets us control to what part of our personal info does the app can access. We can choose to either deny or accept individual permissions.
let me break it down for you in simpler terms -
lets say you are using Hike or Whatsapp and you want to send a voice message to a contact then Whatsapp will ask permission to be able to use your microphone. If you wish to continue then you accept the permission or else you don't have to.
These permissions are asked not during the installation of the app but when the app is used for the first time.
And its an one-time app permission but if you want to change it later you can always go back to Settings.

2-Restore and Back up

How many times have we gone back to those back up apps to back up our old phones ! Google makes it easier for you. In the later Android version combined along Google drive we can back up upto 25MB or less of app data.
These back up run once per day in the background when the device is in idle/charging mode. These are encrypted data and do not count under the Goggle drive storage.
And in-case you lose your phone you can automatically get all the app data back from the previous back up onto your new device.

3-App drawer

This App drawer has its own appeal. Gone are the vertical swiping days, Here comes the vertical list type app drawer.
It comes with a white background with the most four recent apps on the top panel.

4-Android M ram manager

The new android version gives us a clear insight of how much RAM is  used by any app.
This can be found in Settings>>Apps>>Options>>Advanced>>Memory.
It is difficult to find but once it is set , you can easily find the most recent apps in the background and their consumption and accordingly determine your usage.
It also gives a simple bar at the top of the page displaying the device's performance status. With proper settings you can effectively use your phone.

So when will Android M dazzle up your phone?

Like the Lolipop version , we can expect it to roll out to phones and tablets in the Autumn. Currently, developers can play around with early Android M builds on the Nexus 5 and 6 smartphones plus the Nexus 9 and Nexus Player set-top box.

Are you impressed by Android M features ? Let us know in the comments section below. :)

Awesome Android KitKat Tips and Tricks

Kitkat Android Version

Kitkat Version may not be the latest Version in Android Phones but its still working its magic on many phones in the market right now.
As its majorly used by people there are still some Android tricks that you might not know. So +AllTekkies.net is here at your service.
BUT before that we need an access to all those geeky extras and Kitkat was sneaky enough to hide the developer option from its "normal" users. After you unlock the developer option you are free to tinker as much as you want.

Simply go to Settings>>About Phone>>And tap the 'Build Number' section seven times.

We picked out some worth-knowing tricks of Kitkat version. here it goes :

1. Switch to the ART runtime in Android 4.4 Kitkat

By default the "Dalvik" option is present its a simple just in time compiler which makes the app available for you whenever it is required but the "ART' runtime is an ahead of time compiler which keeps the app ready for you in a ready to run stage before you even launch it.This compiler is more smoother in use and saves battery life.
The only problem is that it is not activated by default. To enable it you need to go to Developer options>>select runtime>>Use ART.
After this your phone will reboot and voila! a much faster usage.

2.Speed up animations by 4x

Animations add that extra oomph to your phone but did you know its a way to distract you while the app loads. But given to the increasing technology , phones are much faster and you don't have to slow down for the animations.
Go to developer menu and set 'Window animation scale' to your desired speed.
To make the transition effect faster you need to change the Animation scale to 0.5x , you also can switch OFF the animation.

3. Locate and Wipe your data.

Losing ones phone is like a terrible nightmare. And the fact that some unknown might get an access to your private stuff is a thing we don't want to even think about. Google helps us in protecting our data once is stolen by totally wiping it off. All you need to do is log in to your Google account and remotely locate your device and wipe the data.
But you need to enable this feature before losing your phone. Go to 'Google setting' application >> Android device manager>> Remotely Locate this device>>allow remote lock and factory reset.

4. To locate or not.

Choose how and who gets access to your location. And you can save battery by using the Battery saver if you use apps that require your location but not the pin point location.
To change the location mode open the Settings menu>>Location>>location mode.

5. Immersive mode

Who doesn't love a full screen usage,  this features enables full screen and removes all the on-screen interface. Most of the apps support this immersive mode and if you want to get them back just swipe down from the top of display and the notification bar appears. Very useful when you are in a middle of an interesting game.

6. Limit your background apps

Seeing a sudden drain in your battery??
you must check your Process stats to see whats causing this drain.
In this, you can control what all apps can work in the background and limit their battery usage.
Once you get all of this in check you can see a significant increase in your battery life.

If you are really into how things work in the backstage , the Process stats shows performance and usage of background , foreground and cached processes.

7. An Easter to cheer you up.

This in particular has no use just a fun multicolored animation !
Treat your eyes with these sweet candy by going to
Settings>>About device and then repeatedly tap on 'Android version' until the "K" animation appears. Now Hold it longer and another animated screen appears. And there it is ! Easter treat !

Now that have we let you in the secrets of our favorite Android version ! Kitkat ! We would love it if you share this with others too ! for more such awesome tricks Follow us on @alltekkies.net

How to set custom ringtone on Iphone

How to set custom ringtone on Iphone
All those Iphone users out there know very well that Iphone doesn't allow the feature to set custom ringtones directly. The in built ringtones are pretty good but sometimes we may want to set our favourite songs or tunes as ringtones.

Today in this post we will teach you how you can set custom ringtones on your Iphone easily.

Please note that this trick works on all your Iphone devices like 4/4S/5/5S/6/6 Plus.

Iphone doesn't allow users to set their custom ringtones from the music library. However it can be done by adding the ringtone from itunes. Iphone uses .m4r version of audio for its ringtone. Hence any .m4r version audio added from  itunes can be used as custom ringtones.

So lets see how we can easily convert audios into .m4r version and use them as ringtones on Iphones.

Step 1 : We will be using a Ringtone app downloaded from App Store which allows us to edit audio files and easily convert them into .m4r version audio.

Here I have used an app called Ringtones for Iphone iOS by Mannix Apps which I felt is very user friendly and easy to use app. (Click here to download from App Store).

Once you have downloaded the app just open the app.

Step 2 : You will see iPod library option in the apps which will allow you to select the song from you iPod library i.e the music library.

Step 3 : Select your song from the iPod library.

Step 4 : Once you select the song now you have to edit the song i.e you have to select the portion of the song which you want to set as ringtone.

This is required because you can use ringtones which is of 30 seconds only.

After you select the required part just click on the save button as shown in the image below.

Once you click the save button you will be asked what type of ringtone you want. After you select the tone type press done.

Thats it the tone will be saved in .m4r version.

Step 5: Now connect your Iphone to itunes on your computer. Go to the Apps tab and then scroll down. Under File Sharing Option you will see Ringtone App. Just click on the app to see the ringtone which you created in the app. Just save the ringtone on your computer by clicking on "save to" option as shown in the below image.

Step 6: Now open the folder on your computer where you saved your ringtone and just double click on the ringtone. The ringtone will now be loaded on itunes.

Step 7 : Now go to itunes and click on "Tones" tab and select "Sync Tones".
You will see two options "All tones" and "Selected tones". Click on selected tones to see a list of tones you created. Then select the tones you want to sync and click on "Apply" button below.
The tones will be added to your Iphone.

Step 8 : Now go to ringtone settings on your Iphone to see the newly added ringtone listed. Set the ringtone and enjoy.

Go to Settings> Sounds> Ringtone

You will see the newly added ringtones.

Now add as many custom ringtones you want to add by this method.
Enjoy.
